Why is the internal gauge of good value so closely tied to the currency in your wallet? Thailand is a relatively inexpensive country to visit. Relative to say, Sweden, or even Australia. Accommodation can easily be covered for a few dollars a night, food, again, a few dollars a day. Depending on your bargaining skills, souvenirs can be a steal. 

RTW: Citizens Bank Does the Unthinkable

It's much easier to spend money than to save it while you're travelling but the new Citizens Bank of Canada seems to have pulled off the unthinkable - doing away with the international withdrawal fee. 

Iceland's Silver Lining

The world's financial woes have unfortunately hit the isolated island nation of Iceland a little harder than most. Fortunately, a silver lining emerged as Iceland's currency, the krona, dropped and the once too-expensive destination is now much more backpacker-friendly. Read more »
