HI Hits the Literary World

Along with millions of other people, I loved reading Stieg Larsson's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy. In the third book, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest, it's mentioned in passing that a hostel on Långholmen (an island within Stockholm) has been booked for one of the characters. And there sure has been a lot about Iceland for me to see recently. They had some sort of natural disaster there, I think? A volcano, was it? Ah yes, that’s right. Every photo of Icelandic landscapes I’ve seen in the news the last couple of months just makes me sigh and remember how awesome it is there. Read more »

It's St. Patty's Day, Let's Go to the Beach

Montserrat

Today's the day when the world seems to focus on all things Irish. Over on the Emerald Isle, the beer flows during this unique public holiday, but Ireland can be kind of a dreary place in mid-March. What if we told you you could celebrate this public holiday on the beach, sipping your Guinness from the comfort of a beach lounger, maybe with a little paper umbrella in the top and no one would question you?
