In Memory of Olga Forbes

Earlier in January, we lost a truly great member of the HI-C-PM Region family, Olga Forbes. Olga worked as the manager of HI-Yoho National Park, Whiskey Jack hostel for over 20 years. The hostel was her home for every summer and according to her sister Donna Tunnacliffe, "Olga loved every minute that she served there. She loved the hustle and bustle of getting everyone settled into a bed for the night." Read more »

New Local Eatery just opened at HI-Vancouver Jericho Beach

HI-Vancouver Jericho Beach has a new café-restaurant in the hostel that is open to the public year-round. Hostelling International has entered into a very exciting partnership with The North Shore Culinary School to develop an excellent local eatery for hostellers and locals alike. Read more »

BANGKOK FLOOD UPDATE

The flood situation in Bangkok is now very unpredictable, with most of northern and western parts of Bangkok have already been engulfed by the flood. The water level is high, up to 2.5 metres in low-land areas.  Read more »

Vancouver City Chase

On Saturday, HI Vancouver Jericho Beach were one of the many ChasePoints dotted around Vancouver for competitors taking part in the Mitsubishi City Chase.

Hundreds of teams of 2 competed to take the winners crown. Winners are put through to the national competition and if they win that, they get a brand new Mitsubishi car and progress to the World Championships! Read more »
