The Rockies is one of the best places in the world to tour on your bike, like HI’s very own Kaitie found out last year. HI’s wilderness hostels are dotted throughout the Rockies and are the perfect rest spot for your scenic cycle tour. To those who have found it, HI-Castle Mountain has been a fantastic discovery; easy to get to, as it's just a kilometre off the Trans-Canada highway halfway between Banff and Lake Louise, but hidden away in the trees away from the hustle and bustle of the traffic. HI-Castle Mountain is a perfect spot for a weekend of road biking on the Bow Valley Parkway, hiking up to Rockbound Lake, climbing to the summit of Castle - or maybe just snapping photos of the amazing landscape and wildlife that surrounds the hostel. Denmark is a great country to include on any European trip. If you don’t have time to see the whole country, then I recommend a few days in the capital, Copenhagen. Many people put off travelling in Scandinavian countries because they are expensive. Yes travelling in Scandinavia is going to be costly, there is no way around that, it’s just the way it is! Food, drink and attractions all cost more than other European countries, however there are plenty of things you can do that are not going to break the bank. Read more »
