Join in the Kananaskis 100-Mile Relay

The popular K-100 Relay will hit the foothills of the Rockies on June 19, 2010. While you've got until the 30th of April to register, you can save $50 by registering by this Friday. 

The K-100 is a 100-mile relay race in Kananaskis Country, Alberta. Every year, 180 teams of 10 race through the hilly terrain. All money generated from the race goes back into Hostelling International Canada Pacific Mountain Region to improve hostels and services for budget travellers from around the world. Read more »

Help the Planet at Jericho Beach

 

The United Nations has declared 2010 to be the International Year of Biodiversity. In honour of this declaration, HI-Vancouver Jericho Beach has partnered with the Jericho Stewardship Group to build the Earth Easy Project. The project is looking for volunteers who can start as soon as this weekend. Read more »

Spring Special for Students in Banff

After a long dry patch, the ski resorts in Banff National Park just got dumped on with 17-21 cm of new powder in the past three days. The season ain't over 'til it's over. Middle of the Action, Indeed

Granville Street Olympics

If you were anywhere within earshot of Vancouver last Sunday, you know that there was a bit of a celebration in the streets when the Canadian men's hockey team took the Olympic gold medal.

We often say HI-Vancouver Central is in the middle of the action and this photo taken on Granville Street last Sunday by Canwest News Service just proves it.
