Hostelling International has ten Wilderness Hostels dotted throughout the Rockies region; they are perfect for family getaways, couples, groups of mates and solo travellers. The main difference between these properties and other HI-Hostels is their rustic aspect and remote locations; they really do offer a unique Rockies experience. Some of the properties are very basic and don’t have running water or electricity, but this all adds to the experience.

The Wilderness Hostel experience has long been a favourite with Canadian and International hostellers. Probably because nothing compares to skiing or snowshoeing to a lodge in the middle of the pristine wilderness and being able to literally step into your skis and head off exploring for the day.
