Family of Owen Rooney Asks for Help in Locating Missing Australian Traveller
Hostelling International has been contacted by the family of Owen Rooney, an Australian citizen who has been missing since August 14, 2010.
Owen was last seen travelling to his home in Kelowna from the Shambhala Music Festival near Salmo, BC. Owen got a ride from Castlegar to Christina Lake where he was assaulted. He admitted himself into Boundary Regional Hospital in Grand Forks and left the following night without his belongings.
Owen has not been seen since. He has not accessed his credit cards, bank accounts or online accounts including Facebook.
The family of Owen Rooney is asking the public for assistance in locating his whereabouts. He left the hospital with a head injury so it possible he may not know his own identity.
Here is a description of Owen Rooney:
- 24 years old
- Last seen wearing a dark shirt and shorts
- Has a tribal-style “O” tattoo on his shoulder blade
- Has an “Australian-made" tattoo that consists of a kangaroo in a triangle located on his right leg
