If you're not into the sport part, the World Cup also offers a bit of inspiration for your travel list. Almost all of the countries competing in this year's tournament have HI hostels at home, which just goes to show how extensive the network is.

There are some good deals in these countries over the summer. Just don't pick your destinations based on how well their teams do this year. Greece really is a nice place.

Stayokay, the HI assocation in the Netherlands, now owns 1,250 orange bicycles at its hostels across the country for guests to rent while they stay. For June, they're available to use for free.

Italy: Book now for next year and pay this year's rate
Prices do tend to go up year after year but if you plan a trip to Italy for next year, you can take advantage of this year's prices.
