Having arrived in Whistler I had one thing in mind…..
After queuing for an hour and a half to get into the medal ceremony area we then had an hour of DJ Hot Chili (or similar???) to keep the huge crowd warm, before finally I got the chance to watch Amy Williams receive her gold medal for the Skeleton Bob!!
It was amazing to be there watching live as Amy got given her much deserved Gold Medal….
So cool to know of someone from back home getting a medal and hearing the National Anthem played out to a massive crowd while the flags were raised! I can only imagine that my friend Ruth (Amy’s sister) and al the family were celebrating like mad – I hope so!!!
We did our best to cheer and wave and by lifting the Ski Club of Great Britain’s Betony Garner onto my shoulders with a massive GB flag kindly left by Ed Drakes family we even got ourselves on the big screens!!
What a great way to arrive in whistler!
Woop Woop!
