Member Spotlight: Ed Hemmings

Calgarian Ed Hemmings has been involved in hostelling for most of his life, according to a recent article on youngretired.ca.  A proud hosteller, he recounts his experiences at HI hostels in Canada and the Pacific Mountain Region.  Ed's favourite Wilderness Hostels is HI-Mosquito Creek (pictured above) and HI-Québec is his stand-out urban hostel, located just within the walls of the old city.

Excellent commentary on hostelling from someone clearly "in the know"!

Thanks for the fabulous tips, Ed. I loved hearing about the Mosquito Creek and Montreal hostels. I will have to check them out. I also love that you talked about we more "mature" people hostelling. I find that people my age are afraid to travel alone and are suspicious of hostelling. I, on the other hand, am totally in love with it. Guess I'm one of those more self-reliant people you mention. :)
