What happens at HI-Las Vegas...
HI-Las Vegas gets in on the action and provides a budget, hostel accommodation option for travellers in the heart of Sin City. Finally!
Located on the famous Las Vegas Strip, this new HI hostel is only a 15 minute walk (or 5 minute drive) to the heart of the entertainment, shopping and dining action and the bustle of Vegas' casino's. During the day you can laze around the swimming pool and as the evening rolls in, join fellow hostellers for a night on the town or poker nights, karaoke and Guitar Hero tournaments if you feel like hanging out at the hostel. There are also organised tours to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam in Arizona.

Well...it's about time HI established a facility in Vegas! For the last fifteen years backpackers have had to either stay at that other somewhat run-down hostel on Las Vegas Blvd or else the hostel in (what used to be) the drug-dealer and hooker district way down on Freemont Street, also off the beaten track.
